The Catholic University of America

The Cardinal Card is an all-purpose identification card offering many different services including access to the library, cash purchases at on and off campus locations, meal plan utilization, and residence hall access.

Once enrolled at Catholic University, each student receives a unique ID number. This number enables a student to have a photo taken and placed on their Cardinal Card. ID photos are taken and cards are printed at the office Office of Transportation and Parking Services located next to the information desk in the Pryzbyla Center between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. Students can also send in an official ID photo in advance of their arrival on campus by following the Identification Office link on the Transportation and Parking Services web site. The Cardinal Card can be picked up at the Transportation and Parking office. An ID, like a driver’s license, may be required to pick up the card.

The Cardinal Card provides two different accounts for students to use. Dining Dollars are associated with meal plans and can only be used at on-campus dining service locations like Starbucks. Additional funds can be added to Dining Dollars ONLY for those students participating in student meal plans.  Cardinal Cash is a debit account allowing students to make purchases anywhere the Cardinal Card is accepted such as the campus bookstore or the local Domino’s Pizza.  You can add Dining Dollars and Cardinal Cash at the Cardinal Card account management online service.  Catholic University only accepts deposits made with a Visa or MasterCard. You can also deposit cash directly on a student’s account by visiting the Cashiers office in Leahy Hall (Room 155).

There is no charge for the first Cardinal Card. However, there is a $30 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards. For additional information about Cardinal Card please visit the FAQs section of this web site. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to
